The Kuwaiti army announced, at dawn on Thursday, that it was confronting a missile and drone attack launched by Iran, for the second day in a row.
The Kuwaiti army said on the “X” platform: “The Kuwaiti air defenses are currently confronting missile attacks and enemy drones, as a result of the sinful Iranian aggression.”
Kuwait expressed its condemnation and denunciation, in the strongest terms, of “repeated Iranian sinful attacks on the country, the latest of which occurred at dawn today, in a blatant violation of its sovereignty, a direct threat to its security, stability, and the safety of its citizens and residents of its lands, and a grave violation of the rules of international law, the Charter of the United Nations, and Security Council Resolution No. (2817).”
A statement issued by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday added that “the continuation of these blatant attacks reflects a hostile approach,” describing them as a dangerous escalation that threatens the security and stability of the region, and constitutes “a systematic undermining of diplomatic efforts aimed at calm and de-escalation.”
Kuwait stressed that it reserves its full right to take all necessary measures to preserve its sovereignty, preserve its security, and defend its lands and vital installations against any aggression or threat, “based on its inherent right to self-defense, in accordance with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter and the rules of international law.”
Renewed attacks
The Iranian attacks came a day after Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan announced, on Wednesday, new Iranian attacks with missiles and drones, coinciding with the renewal of mutual strikes between the United States and Iran, in an escalation that included Tehran’s announcement of targeting American bases in Erbil, Iraq, and Washington’s strike on Iranian sites near the Strait of Hormuz.

Force spokesman Brigadier General Muhammad Al-Gharib said that firefighting teams were able, at dawn on Wednesday, to extinguish the fire, stressing that no human casualties were recorded, and that losses were limited to material damage.
On Wednesday, Riyadh also condemned Iran’s targeting of the Saudi tanker “Sidr” while it was crossing the Strait of Hormuz, and the resulting two deaths among the tanker’s crew, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The targeting was met with Gulf and Arab condemnations that stressed respect for the sovereignty of states and the protection of the security of international navigation and energy supplies, and warned of the repercussions of escalation on the stability of the region and opportunities for calm.

The General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers stressed that this aggression falls within Iran's ongoing hostile behavior and its continuing efforts to destabilize security and stability in the region and threaten international peace and security.
Solidarity against threats
The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassim Al-Budaiwi, confirmed that the Iranian attacks represent a blatant violation of the sovereignty of states, and a direct threat to their security and stability, and the safety of international maritime navigation, which exposes the security and stability of the region and the global trade movement to serious risks.
Al-Budaiwi stressed, in a statement, that the Gulf states stand by the targeted countries in all the actions and measures they take to preserve their sovereignty, protect their security and stability, and ensure the safety of their citizens and residents of their lands.
