The duet work "Glass Teeth·Stupid Child" by the Australian Augent Dance Company premiered in Chongqing

The soundtrack filled the entire venue like an undercurrent, and the six dancers moved gracefully among the stage scenery like a dark palace. There is no linear narrative, only shifting stage images, bringing the audience into a chaotic field of "half-dream and half-awake".

On the evening of September 5th, the Australian Australian Dance Company's duet performance "Glass Teeth·Stupid Child" landed at the G THEATRE - Minao Theater, ushering in its Chongqing premiere.

In the first half, "Glass Teeth" sneaks inward, using the stage to construct a dream, and guides the audience to "allow themselves not to 'understand'"; in the second half, "Stupid Kid" looks directly outward, using angular body language to gently ask: In an era when everyone is cleverly managing their self-image, who is the person who clumsily tries to maintain integrity?

"I was filled with joy when I encountered a masterpiece of modern dance at 'Homefront'. Western modern dance that breaks away from traditional narratives gives me a refreshing performance experience." Ye Shiyu, an audience member born after 2000, said with emotion that the two dance works are like mirrors with two sides, "one reflects the subtlety of dreams, and the other reflects the cracks in reality."

It is understood that this dance company, which was founded in 1984, has brought together 86 choreographers and created more than 190 works in more than 40 years. It is a cultural landmark in Brisbane and an important driving force for contemporary Australian dance. Their core creed is simple: the collective is greater than the individual, and collision creates language.

It is reported that the performance venue, G THEATRE, is a multi-functional art space with dance as its core. It is located in Liangjiang Cultural and Creative Park, C33, Chongqing Cuntan International New Town Fashion Consumer Area, and is managed by Liang Yu and Li Hanfei.

Li Hanfei introduced that the theater is deeply involved in local modern dance creation, and has successively launched "Core Species" and "Boom!" 》 and other original dance works, and has represented Chongqing many times overseas to carry out cultural exchanges. At the same time, the theater uses "play performances + artist classes" to empower the modern art ecology in southwest China year after year, allowing avant-garde art to gradually enter the daily lives of people in Bayu.
