Former anchor Xue Kaili was sentenced to one year in prison for defrauding her ex-boyfriend out of 4.2 million yuan. It was confirmed in August. It is reported that she is currently in the United States. The prosecutor has not yet summoned her, and she may be wanted if she is arrested later. In the past, many well-known figures were involved in the case or did not appear in the case after being sentenced, including the artist Ding Xiaoqin who did not report to prison after the sentence was confirmed, as well as the Internet celebrity "Nana Nana" Su Chenduan who was stranded overseas after the case, Zhu Guorong, the president of Guobao Group, Huang Fangyan, the former vice president of Shin Kong Hospital, and Wang Youzeng, the founder of Liba Group, are all similar cases.
Artist Ding Xiaoqin was sentenced to two years in prison for selling fake brand-name products and failing to deliver the goods after receiving payment. The New Taipei District Prosecutor's Office notified her to go to prison in 2020 to serve the sentence. However, she took leave on the grounds of physical discomfort and failed to show up at the designated time. After rejecting the request for leave, the prosecutor issued a detention ticket and stated that he would be wanted if he was not arrested. Ding Xiaoqin later turned up on his own and was immediately sent to prison to serve his sentence. He has served more than three years.
Another well-known case is that of Internet celebrity "Nana Nana" Su Chenduan. She was accused of defrauding more than 100 million yuan in the name of a medical beauty clinic with her ex-boyfriend and others. After the incident, she stayed in Canada. In 2019, she was listed as a wanted fugitive. It was not until 2025 that she returned to Taiwan accompanied by investigation bureau personnel and was brought to justice. After a review by the Taipei District Prosecutor's Office, she was released on bail of NT$2 million, and was restricted from leaving the country, overseas, residence, and electronic monitoring.
Zhu Guorong, the president of Guobao Group, "disappeared" during the trial of the case. Zhu Guorong was sentenced for stock speculation, insider trading and other cases. He was originally restricted from leaving the country and overseas, and was required to report to the police station every day. In September 2023, he suddenly failed to report again. The High Court notified him to appear in court and issued a detention warrant but was not found. In the end, the 400 million yuan deposit was confiscated and he was wanted.
After Huang Fangyan, the former deputy director of Shin Kong Hospital, went to the United States in 2008, he was involved in the Bian family's money laundering case. The special investigation team summoned him twice and asked him to return to Taiwan to explain, but he did not arrive.
Wang Youzeng, the founder of Liba Group, was stranded in the United States after the Liba Dongsen hollowing out case. He was wanted by the prosecutors and fled overseas for nearly 10 years. He eventually died in the United States in 2016.
In addition, the former president of Guangsan Group and chairman of Taichung Commercial Bank, Zeng Zhengren, was sentenced to 11 years in prison for violating the Commercial Accounting Law and other cases. He fled to mainland China in 2004. In 2005, he was wanted by the Taichung District Prosecutor's Office. He is still listed in the Bureau of Investigation's wanted fugitive information.
