A shooting occurred on Shuiyuan Road in Taipei City on the 11th of this month. A woman surnamed Zhao was shot in the abdomen by her husband Chen Zhicheng’s mistress Yi Wanzhen in the street. The police followed the lead and arrested Chen and Yi. However, during a question at the Taipei City Council today, some members pointed out that the crime occurred next to Yingqiao Junior High School, but the Taipei City Government did not take any action, and gunshots were heard entering the campus, causing panic among teachers and students. In this regard, the Taipei City Police Department emphasized today that in addition to making every effort to find the culprit after the incident, it also notified the school as soon as possible.

Taipei City Councilor Jian Shupei pointed out during a parliamentary inquiry today that the scene of the shooting was close to Yingqiao Junior High School. After the incident, gunshots were heard on the campus and the murderer escaped. However, the school made no arrangements and allowed students to leave school on their own. He questioned the Taipei City Government's lack of response and took no action.

In this regard, the Municipal Police Department stated that after the incident that day, the police immediately formed a task force, reviewed the surveillance cameras along the route, and immediately understood that the suspect was escaping in a receiving vehicle. At the same time, police forces along the route were activated to intercept and round up the suspect, and went all out to arrest the culprit.

In addition, after receiving the report, the Second Branch of the Zhongzheng District immediately notified the school and confirmed that the suspect's escape route did not pass through the school, but drove to New Taipei and Yilan to escape, and did not flee near the school. The police followed the car all the way to conduct an investigation and confirmed that it did not endanger the safety of teachers and students of the school.

The Beicheng Police emphasized that all branches and youth teams have established campus safety contact windows and campus reporting mechanisms with schools at all levels in the jurisdiction. After the incident, they immediately reported the incident to the school, strengthened school security contact, and jointly took necessary safety response measures with the school.
