A female coach surnamed Huang took four male trainees surnamed Chen to the sea area for diving training. Unexpectedly, on the way back to shore after the training, Chen suddenly drowned for unknown reasons and lost consciousness. His colleagues immediately pulled him back to the shore. When New Taipei City firefighters were informed and rushed to the rescue, Mr. Chen had no heartbeat and breathing. He still died after being sent to the hospital for emergency treatment.

The Sixth Disaster Rescue Brigade of the New Taipei City Fire Department received a report at around 2:00 this afternoon that a diver was unconscious in the waters of Bat Cave Park. It immediately dispatched teams from Ruifang, Jiufen, Xizhi, Xiufeng and Ruiting, a total of 20 rescue vehicles and 46 search and rescue personnel to the scene.

Firefighters arrived at Bat Cave Park 15 minutes after receiving the report and found that the male student had no breathing and heartbeat (OHCA). They immediately performed CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) on him and rushed him to Ruifang Miners Hospital for rescue.

According to police investigation, a female diving instructor surnamed Huang took four male students surnamed Chen to the waters of Bat Cave Park for diving training in the afternoon. Due to the strong waves, Chen and others could not swim to the shore. Chen, suspected of going into shock due to nervousness, had no heartbeat and breathing when he was pulled to the shore by another student surnamed Zeng. After being rescued by firefighters and sent to the hospital, he died at about 3 p.m.
