The Day of Languages ​​of the Peoples of Russia will be celebrated for the first time on September 8.

The central event, which will be opened by People's Artist of Russia Evgeny Knyazev, will be held at the Rossiya National Center in Moscow.

Various events will be held in all regions of the country, including the Leningrad Region, the Jewish Autonomous Region, the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and the Kamchatka Territory, including themed classes and educational discussions in schools.

The Day of Languages ​​of the Peoples of Russia will be widely celebrated in all regions of the country, and the central event will take place at the National Center "Russia" in Moscow, Elena Yampolskaya, adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Presidential Council for the implementation of state policy in the field of supporting the Russian language and languages ​​of the peoples of Russia, said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

The Day of Languages ​​of the Peoples of Russia will be celebrated for the first time on September 8. The memorable date is dedicated to the birthday of the outstanding poet Rasul Gamzatov. The holiday was established by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“The holiday will be widely celebrated in all Russian regions - from Kamchatka to Kaliningrad,” Yampolskaya said, speaking about events dedicated to the celebration of the Day of Languages ​​of the Peoples of Russia.

She noted that the central event will take place in Moscow, at the Rossiya National Center. “It will be opened by People’s Artist of Russia Evgeny Knyazev with Pushkin’s “Monument.” Then People’s Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan Iskander Khairullin will read an excerpt from Gabdulla Tukai’s poem “Par at,” said Yampolskaya. Performances by artists from Bashkortostan, Yakutia and Dagestan are also expected.

“The Leningrad region claims to become the leader in the number of events - 222 events are planned to be held there,” Yampolskaya indicated. The regions with a large number of events also included the Jewish Autonomous Region, the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, and the Kamchatka Territory.

“Schools across the country will host themed classes and educational discussions. There will also be programs on folk tales in kindergartens. That is, our citizens, young and old, will take part in the celebration of the Day of Languages,” Yampolskaya added.
