A couple in Taoyuan rented a house as a base for drug manufacturing and packaging. They used "rice wine", "camellia seedlings" and "lucky cat" as drug code names for "poisonous coffee bags (cathinone)" and K-tamine. They shipped about 700 bags in six months, and were eventually arrested. The husband admitted that he had committed the crime, but his wife argued that she always thought that he was mixing juice powder and did not know that it was packaging drugs. This argument was not accepted by the judge. The case was concluded by the district court, and the judge sentenced the husband to eight years and six months in prison and his wife to eight years and four months in prison.

The verdict pointed out that Xu Nan used a house in Taoyuan City as a packaging base and purchased cathinone and ketamine as raw materials from an unknown source for 90,000 yuan per kilogram. He also purchased cartoon-pattern packaging bags, baling machines, sealing machines, electronic scales, zipper bags, coffee powder and juice powder. The two measured the drugs using electronic scales at the rental house, put them into a grinding bowl, mixed them with coffee powder and juice powder, and then sealed them separately to make poisonous coffee bags for sale. Since a lot of goods were sold to Changhua, the Changhua police followed the lead and finally uncovered this husband-and-wife drug trafficking syndicate. A total of 2,965 poisonous coffee bags were confiscated at the scene. The couple previously sold a total of 700 packages, making a profit of NT$34,750, and had another NT$45,000 on credit.

The judge said that the two defendants had been married for more than eight years and had a daughter. The husband said that he would use ketamine and the drug coffee bags, and the wife also said that she had used ketamine. This shows that the wife is not a person who has no knowledge of drugs. It is difficult to imagine that the two parties live together and share money. The wife had never seen her husband use drug coffee bags. Based on the evidence above, it can be concluded that the wife knew that the items she packaged and delivered were drug coffee bags. Both of them had criminal contact and shared behavior. Therefore, the husband was sentenced to eight years and six months in prison, and the wife was sentenced to eight years and four months in prison. The entire case remains open to appeal.
