Keelung's grandson beat his 83-year-old grandfather to death. The prosecutor filed a public prosecution and asked a national judge to hear it.

An 83-year-old man in Keelung was found unconscious at home by his wife on February 14 this year. He was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment, but he eventually died. The prosecutor discovered something strange during the inspection, and found out that the grandson, who was in his 20s, had beaten his grandfather with his bare hands two days ago, resulting in his death from serious injuries. The Keelung District Prosecutor's Office recently concluded an investigation and found that Qiu Nan was involved in the crime of injury causing death. He initiated a public prosecution in accordance with the law and transferred it to the People's Court for trial.

According to prosecutors' investigation, on the afternoon of February 12 this year, a man named Qiu and his 83-year-old grandfather had a fierce argument at home. Knowing that his grandfather was old and unsteady on his feet, Qiu Nan ignored his family affection and pushed him to the ground. After the incident, although Qiu Weng could still move normally, his health condition deteriorated after the injury. Two days later, Qiu's wife found her husband unconscious at home and called 119 to send him to the hospital for emergency treatment. However, Qiu Weng was seriously injured. After 13 days of treatment in the intensive care unit, he was still pronounced dead due to traumatic subdural hemorrhage and respiratory failure in the early morning of February 27.

When the prosecutor conducted a physical examination, he discovered that the head injury of the deceased was not caused by a simple fall, and immediately launched an investigation. After questioning the family members one by one and clarifying Qiu Weng's life and rest, it was found that he had a physical conflict with his grandson before he fell into coma, and that the grandson had multiple domestic violence records in the past. We further identified the evidence of Qiu Weng's violence and transferred him to justice in accordance with the law.

The Keelung District Prosecutor's Office reviewed the evidence in the entire case and determined that Qiu Nan beat his relatives to death with his bare hands. The evidence of the crime of injury resulting in death was clear, and the defendant's injuries were direct blood relatives. According to the law, his sentence should be increased to one-half.

The prosecutor believes that this case is a major case of "intentional crime resulting in death", and will be jointly heard by the National Judge's Court, and the National Judge and the judge will jointly determine the criminal liability.
