Number of wounded US troops in conflict with Iran rises to 861

The number of US military personnel injured during the conflict with Iran immediately increased by 37 and reached 861, not counting 19 deaths, follows from updated official Pentagon reports, which were reviewed by RIA Novosti.

Taking into account 19 confirmed deaths, the total sanitary and irretrievable losses of the American contingent during the entire confrontation with Iran amounted to 880 people, according to Pentagon data.

The wounded included another 29 American sailors and eight Marines.

Previously, the Washington Post claimed that the Pentagon was allegedly underestimating the number of American military deaths without disclosing to the public the real scale of losses since the beginning of the conflict with Iran. The head of the department, Pete Hegseth, called this information false.
