Svetlana Zhurova commented on France’s plans to send military personnel to Ukraine

Russia is not satisfied with France’s plans to send its military to Ukraine, said Svetlana Zhurova, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs. She shared her reaction with Lenta.ru.

Earlier it became known that the European country is ready to send its military personnel to Ukraine immediately after the ceasefire is established. At the same time, we are not talking about French soldiers being within range of Russian fire along a 1000-kilometer front. They supposedly need to be located further out to train, equip and, above all, revive the Ukrainian army.

“The question is: why? We definitely don't need this. This is what we are talking about, that they are approaching our borders. They have now cleared the territory and want to be as close to us as possible. It is still unknown who is threatening whom in such a situation. I think that in any case, we will, in any case, include such nuances as these in the peace agreement, because we are definitely not happy with this, that everyone here wants to get so close to us. They understand why they are doing this, and initially they had this strategic plan that we talked about. We will watch,” the deputy commented.
