The vulgarity and nouveaurichism of Daniel Vorcaro's farofas with hierarchs of the Republic show that time passes and vices persist, with less talent.

In the second half of the 1860s, the opera buffa "La vie parisienne", by French composer Jacques Offenbach, was a huge success in Europe. In it there was an aria that foreshadowed the farofeiros of the 21st century, it was called "Je suis brésilien".

He sang: "I am Brazilian, I have gold; And I come from Rio de Janeiro; Richer today than before; Paris, I return to you; Twice I have already come; I had gold in my suitcase; Diamonds on my shirt; How long did all this last?; The time to have two hundred friends; And to love four or five lovers; Six months of gallant drunkenness; And nothing else; Oh Paris, Paris!; In six months, you took away from me; Everything; (...) And I come, so that you can give me steal; everything I stole down there."

In 1867, the bohemian Juca Paranhos, son of the Viscount of Rio Branco and father of the future Baron, was in the audience. Offenbach's "Brazilian" may be the origin of the term "rastaquera".

Vorcaro's treasure

After months of negotiations, Daniel Vorcaro's collaboration remains at square one. Despite this, the content stored on their cell phones proves, to satiety, the extent of their connections.

The finório's brother-in-law, Fabiano Zettel, revealed that in October 2025 he went abroad and hid an herbalist. In his words:

"The Central Bank gave Daniel three weeks to reformulate the bank, otherwise it will be liquidated. I went there [abroad], I hid some money, because if everything goes wrong and goes to hell and everything I own is blocked, I have to have money to be able to continue living and maintaining things. Now, I'm in Brazil and I trust in telling you this. There I couldn't say this over the phone."
