Israeli troops kill Palestinian man in Jenin, West Bank

The Israeli army shot and killed a Palestinian man today (21st) in the northern West Bank city of Jenin. The Israeli army claimed that the man was a "terrorist" and had tried to stab a soldier.

According to the "AFP" report, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said in a statement that 58-year-old Fathi Zidan Hazem was shot by Israeli troops in the early morning of the 21st in the city of Jenin and died of serious injuries. The health ministry added that his body has been detained by Israel.

The Israeli military pointed out that when the Israeli army was performing a mission in the city of Jenin, a knife-wielding terrorist tried to stab a soldier, causing the Israeli army to open fire and kill him.

Hazem is a retired colonel in the Palestinian national security forces. His son Raad Hazem launched a shooting in Tel Aviv in April 2022, killing three Israelis and injuring many others. Ra'ad was eventually killed after a large-scale manhunt by Israeli forces.

Hazem’s other son, Abdul Rahman Hazem, died in September 2022 when the Israeli army raided the Jenin refugee camp and killed him while hunting suspected militants.
