However, many council members have questioned that the water dispenser in the lactation room has not been tested for more than a year. The appearance of the fire extinguisher in the men's restroom is obviously rusty, and the pressure gauge pointer has returned to zero. The function is questionable. The bus electronic information system at the bus shelter next to the Gaomei Wetland Experience Center has shown "unable to obtain site information" for the past three months. The maintenance period has become a "management window period." The Building and Construction Bureau pointed out that new manufacturers have moved into the visitor center on August 1 and will be required to strengthen facility management.
City Councilors Yang Dianzhong, Zheng Gongjin, Shi Zhichang, and Lin Qifeng were concerned about the chaos at the Gaomei Wetland Visitor Center during its outsourcing maintenance period. Yang Dianzhong said that the Construction Bureau completed the re-investment in June for a new operator to take over and obtain the operating rights. The investment plan for the Gaomei Wetland Visitor Service Center covers the main body of the visitor center, the parking lot and the original camping site. It declares that Gaomei Wetland will be upgraded from a "transit attraction" to a "tourist destination". Site preparations are currently underway.
However, Yang Dianzhong went to the site for inspection and found many management problems in the open visitor center. For example, the water dispenser in the lactation room of the visitor center was posted with the words "The water quality of this machine is regularly tested, please drink with confidence." However, the equipment maintenance and water quality inspection records revealed on site were stuck in May last year. There has been no inspection record for more than a year. According to regulations, drinking water dispensers are maintained at least once a month. For those who use tap water, the treated water quality is tested for coliforms every three months in principle, which raises concerns about the water quality.

The city government should actively think about how to bring the high popularity of Gaomei Wetland to Taichung Aquarium, Wuqi Fishing Port, Qingshui Military Village, etc., so that tourists can change from "going to Gaomei to watch the sunset" to "going to the seaside for a day."
