Eunpyeong-gu promotes Baekryeon Mountain major renovation project... Creation of a representative rest park in the northwest region

3 rest areas, a trail, and an elevator were created... “A representative resting park in the northwest region”

(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Jeong Joon-young = Seoul Eunpyeong-gu (District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced on the 8th that it will promote the 'Baekryun Mountain Major Renovation Project' to create 200,000 m2 of Baekryun Mountain area into a representative complex recreation park in the northwestern region of Seoul.

This project, with a total budget of 7.046 billion won, is characterized by focusing on organically connecting the urban forest resources of Baeknyeonsan Mountain and the surrounding living areas by combining 10 projects that had been promoted individually.

The district plans to create three base rest areas that take advantage of the characteristics of Baekryun Mountain and increase the convenience of movement by linking the 1.5km-long trail with a barrier-free environment.

The three base spaces are ▲ 'Dream Village Supjeongi', which creates a rest area and an attractive garden in connection with the social welfare facility Green Dream Ground ▲ 'Noeulchae', which refurbishes the old Eunpyeongjeong Pavilion into a space with a view and resident communication function ▲ 'Nokbeon Station Plaza', which strengthens the symbolism and relaxation function of the entrance to Baekryun Mountain.

To improve accessibility for people with mobility impairments, an elevator will be installed at the steep slope at the entrance to Baekryun Mountain and a barrier-free road of approximately 0.7km will be connected.

In addition, a safe and convenient walking environment is created by designating child protection zones, expanding sidewalks, and creating alleviation facilities.

We are also creating a unique garden with residents around Baekryun Mountain.

We are spreading garden culture by establishing the nation's first 'Baby Birth Memorial Garden', 'Tomorrow's Garden' created with youth preparing for independence, and a garden linked to village gardeners.

Through this project, the district plans to create a green pedestrian path connecting the Baekryun Mountain Urban Forest, Seoul Dullegil, and major spaces.

District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung said, "The Baekryun Mountain remodeling project is a project that goes beyond renovating old facilities and reflects residents' opinions to improve the accessibility and convenience of using Baekryun Mountain. We will make it a space where everyone can enjoy nature and relaxation close to their daily lives."
