Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek announced the results of the investigation regarding FETO/PDY-related unauthorized transactions against MASAK's EMIS system and the deactivation of the PEP system.

Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek made a statement regarding the investigation carried out by the Istanbul Provincial Police Department under the coordination of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

Gürlek stated that within the scope of the investigation, findings were reached regarding unauthorized transactions and the security of system records regarding the Integrated Financial Intelligence System (EMIS) used by the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK).

According to Minister Gürlek's statement, it was determined that individuals and companies affiliated with the secret structure of FETO/PDY were influential in the development and maintenance of MASAK's critical digital infrastructure between 2012 and 2018.

"FETO" DETAIL

Within the scope of the investigation, EMIS software has been used by AGMLAB A.Ş. since 2012. It was developed by the company and MRD A.Ş. and Barış Ata A.Ş., which was closed by Decree Law No. 667. It was claimed that there were partnership and management relations between them.

In the statement, it was stated that findings were obtained indicating that some partners of the companies in question were operating at a responsible level in the military and IT structures of FETO/PDY.

PEP SYSTEM HAS BEEN DISABLED

It was reported that during the technical investigations carried out on EMIS, it was determined that the protection system regarding the List of Politically Exposed Persons (PEP) was disabled and subsequently interrogations were carried out regarding President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, his relatives and some ministers.

It was stated that there were suspicious situations regarding the integrity of some records in the system and technical findings were obtained that some data fields may have been deleted later.

It was also noted that it was determined that transaction records were not kept to enable retrospective auditing of the transactions of users with administrative authority.

JUDICIAL PROCEEDINGS AGAINST 22 SUSPECTS

Gürlek stated that a simultaneous operation was carried out in Istanbul and Ankara within the scope of the investigation.

During the operation, judicial proceedings were initiated against 22 suspects, including the person who served as MASAK Deputy Chairman at the time of the incident.

While 5 of the suspects were caught and detained, an arrest warrant was issued for 16 suspects who were determined to be abroad for the crime of "political or military espionage". It was stated that efforts to capture a suspect are continuing.

TWO COMPANIES WERE SEIZED

Within the scope of the investigation, AGMLAB A.Ş. and MRD A.Ş. were seized by court decision and the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF) was appointed as trustee.

It was announced that the statements of three former presidents who served as MASAK Presidents during the relevant periods will be taken by the judicial authorities.

Gürlek stated that the investigation is being continued by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and the Istanbul Provincial Police Department, and noted that the investigations are continuing.

REMARKABLE ERDOĞAN DETAIL: HIS INFORMATION WAS QUESTIONED

Gürlek also announced that in the "political and military espionage" investigation against MASAK's Integrated Financial Intelligence System, it was determined that AKP President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, his relatives and some ministers were interrogated.

Among these people, there are people who were found to be operating at a responsible level in the Navy, IT, defense industry and Gendarmerie secret structures of the organization; It has been determined that a significant portion of them went abroad before or immediately after the treacherous coup attempt of July 15.

In the technical examinations carried out on EMIS, it was determined that the protection system regarding the List of Politically Exposed Persons (PEP) was disabled and subsequently interrogations were carried out regarding our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, his relatives and some ministers.

Technical findings have been found indicating that there are suspicious situations regarding the integrity of some records in the system and that some data fields may have been deleted subsequently; It has been determined that log (transaction) records that will enable retrospective auditing of the transactions of users with administrative authority (admin) are not kept.

All these findings; It reveals a very serious picture that FETO/PDY not only infiltrated state institutions through personnel, but also may have gained access to the critical financial data of our citizens by structuring on the IT infrastructure of our state's most critical financial intelligence systems.

Within the scope of the investigation, AGMLAB A.Ş. and MRD A.Ş. were seized by court decision and the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund was appointed as trustee.
