Jeonnam Gwangju Unified Special City develops its own AI-based negotiation contract automation system and operates in October

Jeonnam Gwangju Unified Special City announced on the 6th that it will develop its own business support system that uses artificial intelligence (AI) as a development tool to automate negotiation contracts and operate it starting in October.

The city standardized 10 steps and around 44 detailed procedures for each 'negotiable contract' and integrated them into one system.

The system was officially built after the city's data information officer created a pilot version using AI, verified it by applying it to actual contract work, and supplemented the functions with the accounting and contract teams.

Negotiated contracts are a method of selecting contract partners through professional and technical proposal evaluation, and many of the procedures have been performed directly by the ordering department.

The new system computerizes the entire process, from application and reception of evaluators to member selection, evaluation and tally, and results processing, automatically verifies the number of annual participations by evaluators, and improves the fairness of the member selection process through an electronic lottery.

Repetitive tasks such as compiling evaluation results, calculating overall scores, calculating allowances, and creating result documents are also automatically processed.

The integrated city expects to reduce budget and improve work efficiency by reflecting inconveniences that arise in actual contract work into the system without relying on external development.

The city plans to analyze operational performance to supplement functions and expand its own development method to other contract types and administrative tasks.

Shin Chang-ho, head of the accounting department at Jeollanam-do Gwangju City, said, “We will systematically manage the main procedures of negotiated contracts to reduce the work burden on the ordering department and increase the fairness and reliability of contract administration.”
