[Reporter Fang Weijie/Taipei Report] Lu Songqing, chairman of Hongteng Precision Technology (FIT), a subsidiary of Hon Hai (2317), said today that with the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI), the industry used to pursue more powerful computing power, but now it is more concerned about how to make the entire data center perform. For maximum efficiency, every watt of electricity, every data exchange, and every connection directly affects AI productivity. The next ten years of AI will not only compete with computing power, but also the ability to connect every token to each other. Data must flow faster, more stably, and more efficiently.
Hongteng held a Technology Day event today. Lu Songqing pointed out that in the face of the demand for high-speed Internet driven by AI, Hongteng has extended the connection technology accumulated over the past 30 years to new generation applications. From CPU Sockets to optical fiber connectors, the company has long accumulated precision manufacturing, component engineering design and global mass production capabilities. As signal transmission gradually shifts from electrical signals to optical signals, the company's development direction has not changed, but continues to extend its existing core capabilities to the new generation optical communication market.

Lu Songqing said that Hongteng brings reliability to high-speed interconnection, precision manufacturing to optical communications, and global mass production capabilities to AI infrastructure. He believes that what truly changes the industry is not just a single technological breakthrough in the laboratory, but more importantly, enabling innovative systems to move to the global market stably and reliably. This is why Hongteng proposed the concept of "Large Scale" this time, which represents the company's layout for the next-generation data center infrastructure.
Regarding the continuous expansion of the scale of AI data centers, Lu Songqing observed that the market is already familiar with architectures such as Scale Up, Scale Out, and Scale Across, covering everything from chips to systems, cabinets to data centers, and cross-cabinet and data center integration. However, Hongteng is optimistic that true scale will go beyond this. The next step will also include "Scale to Production," which means transforming innovative technologies into high-yield, mass-produced products, so that technological breakthroughs can truly be realized.
In addition to mass production capabilities, Hongteng will also expand cooperation with the global optical communications industry. Lu Songqing proposed the concept of "Scale with Ecosystem", believing that global partners need to jointly establish an open and interoperable optical communications ecosystem to accelerate the popularization of new technologies and the development of data center infrastructure; AI in the future will not be completed by a single company, but will be jointly built by the entire industry.
Hongteng also combined the resources of Hon Hai (2317) Group to demonstrate its AI optical communication layout this time. Lu Songqing pointed out that the on-site demonstration included optical fiber from Hon Hai Technology Group, silicon photonics technology from Hon Hai Research Institute's Semiconductor Research Institute, and 1.6T switches from Fii and Uda Technology. The layout extends from components and modules to systems, and vertical integration capabilities are strengthened through internal cooperation within the group.
Lu Songqing emphasized that Hongteng’s role in AI infrastructure is to transform optical communication industry innovation into AI infrastructure that can truly be deployed and scaled through precision design, manufacturing and global mass production capabilities. He also said, "AI has changed the way the world calculates, and FIT will be one of the driving forces behind the actual change in the world's connected AI."
