Angelina Jolie's visit to Ukraine: Education and struggle for survival underground

American movie actress Angelina Jolie shared a post about her visit to Ukraine on her social media account.

Stating that Russian attacks against civilians and infrastructure continue, Jolie stated that Ukrainian children returned to school and met with the local people as well as students and teachers.

Jolie said, "Kharkov is located in an area close to the Russian border and is hit almost every day. For this reason, classrooms are built in metro stations. Other schools are also completely underground. Here, young children learn to read 3 floors underground."

Noting that she met a group of young athletes during her visit and that these athletes trained in the underground training hall while air raid sirens were blaring, Jolie stated that she saw children with learning disabilities create "incredible works of art" in an art studio.

Jolie also stated that she received information about the project carried out in the Carpathian Mountains to help men who have been in captivity for years to reunite with their loved ones, and said, "We met with women who raised their children alone while fighting for the release of their husbands. Some of them have been waiting for four years."

Talking about the local organizations she met with, Jolie shared her opinion: "These local organizations with limited resources have found a way to continue their activities under impossible conditions."
