Security and Infrastructure Planning Continues for the COP31 Summit in Antalya

While security plans were being prepared for Antalya Airport, COP31 area, accommodation facilities and transportation routes, coordination meetings were held with the UN Security and Safety Unit (UNDSS) and relevant national and international security units.

Additional measures are planned for the police and gendarmerie units, supported by personnel, vehicles, cameras, license plate recognition and unmanned aerial vehicles.

A total of five infirmaries were planned in the COP31 area, one of which is a VIP, 3 in the Blue Zone and two in the Green Zone.

An ambulance will be available in front of each infirmary, four infirmaries will be available between 08.00 and 24.00, and one infirmary will be available 24 hours a day.

A total of 9 fire trucks and 34 personnel were planned to work on a 24-hour basis in the Blue Zone, Green Zone and the main terminal.

The COP31 conference area will consist of two main sections: Blue Zone and Green Zone. The Blue Zone was planned to be 527 thousand 414 square meters, and the Green Zone was planned to be 582 thousand 244 square meters.

Thus, the total size of the two regions will be 1 million 109 thousand 658 square meters.

Work is also continuing in the area for a VIP car park with a capacity of 1500 vehicles, an open car park with a capacity of 5 thousand vehicles, a parking area with a capacity of 400 buses and a heliport.

In the Blue Zone, where official negotiations will be held, 28 meeting rooms and foyer areas, two general assembly halls, 9 side event areas, the United Nations office, delegation offices, bilateral meeting rooms, pavilions, food and beverage areas and a media and computer center are planned.

It is planned to establish the Turkey Pavilion and Energy Transition, Our Common Home, Our World, Culture and Civilization, Technology and Innovation, Green Transformation and Finance, Waste-Compost, Family and Child and Technical Support centers in the Green Zone, which will be open to the public.
