Doctor Nurettin Demirkol was arrested in the investigation into the death of Arif Ahmet Denizolgun

Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Organized Crimes Bureau launched an investigation into the allegations regarding the death of Arif Ahmet Denizolgun on September 7, 2016.

Doctor Nurettin Demirkol, who was previously heard as a witness within the scope of the investigation, testified again as a suspect on the charge of "false testimony" after discrepancies were detected between his statements and 155 notification records, HTS data and other witness statements.

Demirkol, who was questioned at the Bakırköy 3rd Criminal Court of Peace, to which he was referred with a request for arrest, said, "I cannot clearly remember the events of 10 years ago."

The court decided to arrest Demirkol, taking into account the HTS records, statements of other witnesses and law enforcement reports.

Nurettin Demirkol's statement to the prosecutor's office was reached by CNN Turk. CNN Turk correspondent Merve Tokaz explained the details of the statement;

"He personally calls 155 and reports it. Nurettin Demirkol says, 'I have a patient for whom I was a family doctor, who died suddenly, the judge and prosecutor needs to see.' 10 years ago, he introduced himself to a private doctor and reported this death. Here we come today. He was arrested for false testimony. His statement was found to be contradictory. He says, 'The allegations that I am my private doctor are lies, I do not accept them.'

'I DON'T KNOW, I DON'T REMEMBER'

The summary of the prosecution statement is actually 'I don't know, I don't remember'. He is reminded of that date and uses the following expressions. 'I don't remember whether it was me or someone else who called on the day of the incident.' he says.

Nurettin Demirkol is asked: 'You did the examination that day, you said that there was blood in the areas where his mouth was', what do you think about this?

"I don't remember, I don't even remember the patient I examined a week ago, I might have confused him," he says.

"I DON'T KNOW I AM A FAMILY DOCTOR"

It is said, 'You introduced yourself. 'You are the one who made the report.' When asked what do you think about this, he said; 'I examined him 2-3 times. I don't know how to become a family doctor. "I don't know if I'm his family doctor or not," he says.

'I don't know whether what came from his mouth at that time was blood or a liquid that came from the cause of death. There might not have been blood. I may have perceived it as blood and said so. "I don't remember who was there." he says.

When asked who gave donations at the farm that night, Nurettin Demirkol said, 'It is not possible for me to know, I have a problem remembering names and faces. I don't remember the people I saw, I don't know who was at the door. It is impossible for me to remember such things. 'I was sleep deprived.' He used the expressions.

We do not know if there is a secret that is being tried to be hidden behind such contradictory statements.

REFERRAL LIST HAS BEEN APPEARED

In the referral letter regarding the request for the arrest of Nurettin Demirkol, it was stated that Demirkol, in his statement as a witness, said that he did not consider the death as suspicious, but in the 155 notice, he introduced himself as the family doctor and reported the death as suspicious.

The prosecutor's office stated that there were contradictions between the doctor's statements, HTS records and other witness statements, and requested his arrest on the grounds that there was a strong suspicion of a crime against him.

WHAT HAPPENED?

In the statement made by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on August 18, it was noted that an allegation and complaint was made regarding the suspiciousness of the death and autopsy procedures of Arif Ahmet Denizolgun, who passed away in September 2016, and that a decision was made to place the victim in a fethi grave in order to conduct a re-examination regarding the determination of the real cause of death of the victim in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

In line with the decision, the deputy chief prosecutor, the public prosecutor, Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institute experts and crime scene investigation teams came to Denizolgun's grave on August 19, and the parts of Denizolgun's body were taken from the grave opened by the officials and taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute by transport vehicle for examination.

The samples removed from the grave were placed back in the grave on August 20 after the procedures.

In the statement made by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on August 26, it was stated that a "suspicious death" was detected in Denizolgun's autopsy and that the investigation was continuing against the suspects, including Alihan Kuriş, for the crime of "homicide".

The information and documents obtained as a result of the preliminary examination after the opening of Denizolgun's grave were sent to the 1st Specialization Board of the Forensic Medicine Institute for reporting.
