Domestic smartphones, developed in cooperation with ASELSAN and Türk Telekom, are preparing to meet users in 2027 with satellite connection and encrypted models.
An important step has been taken in Turkey's technology ecosystem, and official studies have been initiated for domestic smartphone production in cooperation with ASELSAN, Türk Telekom and TTT Innovation. In this project, which is aimed to be launched in the first quarter of 2027, three different smartphone models are being developed.
These models, which also include encrypted options specifically for public personnel, stand out with their satellite connection infrastructure that aims to provide uninterrupted communication, especially in critical situations such as natural disasters. While the operating system of the devices that will be produced in Istanbul is aimed to be completely localized over time, the strategic importance of the project was determined as a result of long-term consultations with public institutions.
The Project is Expanded with a Strategic Restructuring
According to the information shared by Aydın Erkoç, President of the Turkish World Business Council, this domestic smartphone initiative, which is the product of a preparation process of approximately three years, does not only have a commercial purpose. The work, whose technological depth has increased with ASELSAN's involvement in the project, is based on secure communication in times of crisis.
While a special company structure is being created for the project, the search for a CEO has accelerated to determine the management team.

Production and Operating System Process is Taking Shape
The models, which were initially based on the Android operating system, are planned to switch to an operating system developed with domestic resources over time.
It is stated that the production capacity will start in a center to be established in Istanbul and will be moved to a more comprehensive facility in the future. Strengthening the project with domestic software and hardware components directly contributes to Turkey's vision of technological independence.
These smart devices, shaped by taking into account the needs of public institutions, aim to increase security at the state level, especially with their encrypted communication capabilities. ASELSAN's engineering power is seen as the biggest trump card of the project. The steps to be taken in terms of software will determine Turkey's place in the mobile operating system market.
Domestic phones will take their place on the shelves in the first quarter of 2027 with an affordable price policy.
