Building explosion in Athens: 6 dead

According to the news of Greek State Television ERT, search and rescue teams recovered 4 bodies from the rubble in the Plaka district, one of the historical and touristic centers of Athens, and the bodies of 2 people were detected under the rubble.

It was determined that 4 of the bodies belonged to an American family who came to Athens on holiday and rented one of the apartments of the collapsed building for a short time, and 2 of the bodies belonged to an elderly couple living in the building.

The cause of the explosion has not yet been determined.

There was an explosion in a building in Plaka yesterday morning and the building was destroyed. Serious damage also occurred to adjacent buildings.
