TRE-DF fines governor Celina Leão for using restricted locations in electoral propaganda

According to TRE-DF, five advertisements published on a social network have images captured in "public places with restricted access", such as the Governor's office at Palácio do Buriti and internal areas of public hospitals, such as beds, pediatric wards, infirmaries and surgical blocks.

However, in the process, Celina Leão's defense argued that "the disclosure of management acts in a personal profile cannot be confused with electoral use of the administrative structure" and that "preventing the represented party from disclosing the progress of works in the health area would bring an advantage to the opposition".

Assistant judge Rafael Moreira Mota points out that the images were "taken in places that are not freely and freely accessible to any of the people and candidates competing in this election, [...] making it clear that the Representative is benefiting from holding the head of the Executive Branch to the detriment of the principle of equality".

In addition to paying a fine, the governor must remove the videos from her social networks within 24 hours – the decision was signed this Friday (25). Until the last update of this report, the advertisements were still on air.
