When Lorena Isceri was thrown by her ex from the viaduct along the Autostrada del Sole in Barberino del Mugello on September 4th, she was still alive. The autopsy, underway this evening, gives the answer to one of the main questions posed by the Florence prosecutor's office to the medical examiner who is examining the body of the girl killed by her ex Federico Vella. An exam that began in the afternoon at Careggi hospital and will continue until late in the evening.
The questions posed by the deputy prosecutor Antonio Natale to the medical examiner Beatrice Defraia are the usual ones - to establish the causes of death - but in a case that is already clear in its dynamics and responsibilities, the investigators' intention is now to clearly clarify the development of the facts in their completeness. And understanding whether Vella killed Lorenza before throwing her from the viaduct or whether it was the fall that caused her death was the only missing element. From the external examination and the CT scan on the body, an answer already appears: the woman died from the fall and impact on the ground from tens of meters high.
However, the definitive evaluation will be reported in the doctor's report which will be delivered in 90 days. The autopsy examination is also underway on Vella's body as the magistrates have also asked for the tissue to be taken for the purposes of the toxicological examination: was he under the influence of narcotics or psychotropic drugs? Did he hire them? Or was he lucid when he killed his ex? The autopsies are carried out, for technical reasons, as part of an open file for kidnapping for the purpose of murder (or femicide as in this case) aggravated by premeditation.
The autopsy on Lorella Isceri will also have to ascertain whether the bruises can be traced back to the fall or are prior to the moment in which she was locked in the trunk. None of the families' lawyers appointed medical-legal consultants. They will rely on the assessments of the consultant of the Florentine prosecutor's office. "After the medical-legal investigations, Lorena's body will be returned to the family and then it will leave for Squinzano, where the funeral will be celebrated on Wednesday or Thursday", announced the lawyer Cosimo Miccoli who assists the Isceri family.
During the investigations, the prosecutor Antonio Natale ordered the forensic copy of the three seized cell phones to reconstruct, through phone calls and messages, what happened in the weeks preceding the brutal murder. Meanwhile, a new appeal arrives from Squinzano from Franco Isceri, Lorena's father. An appeal from the microphones of Canale 5's 'Dentro la notizia' addressed this time to all women and not to politicians: "I hope that my daughter is the last victim. Please don't do like my daughter, who wanted to defend him and told me that she didn't want to destroy him. The first thing to do is to report it".
As for the previous message addressed to the institutions, "I think they have understood it, I think they care as much as possible, because the Italian people now have their pockets full of these tragedies. We can no longer go on - says Franco Isceri - Many women are dying who don't deserve it. It's too late now, hurry up". "How much I would like - he concluded - to see a law with political unanimity to defend women". As for the murderer, Lorena's father says he never knew him. "I'm now 78 years old, I have white hair and I have some experience in life. I was a little scared, otherwise I wouldn't have always been telling her "let's report it". She was a good girl, she didn't want to ruin it. That scoundrel didn't give us time."
