Plane that crashed in MT and left three dead left GO and had no flight plan

Three people died in the crash of the aircraft that would have left an aerodrome in Goiânia (GO), but it has not yet been possible to identify the intended destination due to the lack of registration of the flight plan. The plane is not registered with Anac.

A plane crashed this Thursday (10) in Água Boa (MT), leaving 3 dead. According to police, the Cessna did not have a registered flight plan.

The aircraft was not registered with Anac. In 2017, the plane was seized by the Federal Police with loads of cocaine and 2 Spaniards were arrested.

Valued at R$180,000, the plane was auctioned in December 2023. The last recorded flight authorization occurred on October 26th.

The plane that crashed this Thursday (10) on a farm in Água Boa (MT) and left three people dead did not have a registered flight plan, according to delegate Carlos Alberto, responsible for the incident.

The plane would have left an aerodrome in Goiânia (GO), but it has not yet been possible to identify the intended destination due to the lack of a flight plan record.

According to the Mato Grosso Civil Police, the plane is a Cessna, registration number N401NA and is not registered with the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac). In 2017, the aircraft was seized by the Federal Police and two Spanish twin brothers were arrested after discovering loads of cocaine.

In December 2023, the same aircraft, valued at R$180,000, was put up for electronic auction as part of a process related to the seizure of assets in the investigation of drug trafficking.

The victims were not identified until the last update of this report.

The seizure

The Federal Police began investigating the hangar where the plane was found after an anonymous tip. According to the teams, the foreigners entered the aerodrome hangar on the banks of GO-070 at night.

In a statement at the time, the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) informed that the aircraft had permission to enter Brazil. However, the last flight authorization was issued on 10/26, with a flight plan to Goiânia.
