Guangzhou Maritime Department provides emergency rescue to crew members suffering from sudden illness

China News Service, Guangzhou, June 15 (Guo Jun, Chen Xuan, Qiu Zhenhua) At noon on June 15, a violent storm hit the Pearl River in Guangzhou. The Guangzhou Xinsha Maritime Department Intelligent Management Branch received a report: A crew member of the "Guigang Deloitte XXX" ship anchored at the Xinsha 86LH anchorage suddenly fell ill and urgently needed to go ashore for medical treatment.

Guangzhou Xinsha Maritime Department immediately started the emergency response process and carried out multi-party linkage simultaneously: it immediately called 120 emergency center medical staff and went to the 10W transverse berth of Xinsha Pier to wait; at the same time, it dispatched on-site maritime law enforcement vessels and assigned law enforcement officers to immediately go to the waters where the incident occurred to rescue the crew members who suddenly fell ill.

Affected by strong convective weather, the waters at the site were windy and rough, the ship was bumpy and violent, and the risk of boarding operations was high. Law enforcement officers took safety precautions and successfully boarded the ship despite the wind and waves. After on-site verification, it was found that the sick crew member was weak and unable to stand and walk independently. Law enforcement officers immediately synchronized the on-site situation with the intelligent management sub-center, fixed the distance between the two ships with the help of cables, worked together to support the transfer crew, and smoothly transferred them to the coast patrol law enforcement vessel. After being transferred to the designated dock by the coast patrol boat, the sick crew member was successfully transferred to the 120 ambulance and sent to the hospital for treatment. The entire disposal process was efficiently linked and responded quickly, effectively protecting the life, health and safety of the crew. (over)
