Huang Xiaobo said that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, Wuzhishan City's economic development has been stable and progressive, and the regional GDP has achieved leapfrog growth compared with the end of the "13th Five-Year Plan", with an increase of 22.8%. Facing the "15th Five-Year Plan", Wuzhishan City will take the construction of Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park as a guide and coordinate the promotion of ecological protection and green development. Continuously improve the value realization mechanism of ecological products and build an ecological conservation zone in central Hainan with high standards. Comprehensively promote the green and low-carbon transformation of the economy and society, and strive to maintain the national leading level in ecological and environmental quality by 2030.
Wuzhishan City will take ecological industrialization and industrial ecology as the main line to promote the integrated development of the "seven major industries" of tropical high-efficiency agriculture, tourism, culture, sports, health care, high-tech, and modern service industries, and strengthen and optimize the "three leaves (i.e., tea, cigars, wild vegetables)", high-end sports manufacturing and training, aquaculture, high-end cardio-cerebral medical service trade and other characteristic advantageous industries.
