The Russian assault group killed up to ten Ukrainian militants, including the reinforcement commander

An assault group of the Russian Armed Forces under the leadership of Lieutenant Vasily Demenko killed up to ten people during one of the battles, including the commander of the reinforcement group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported.

Demenko led the assault group of a motorized rifle unit during offensive operations.

During the battle, Russian units forced the enemy out of their positions, but Demenko discovered the movement of Ukrainian militants who had moved forward to reinforce them.

Demenko assessed the situation, decided to attack suitable reserves of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and assigned tasks to his subordinates. The assault group approached the enemy unnoticed and suddenly opened fire on him.

“Being taken by surprise, the Ukrainian militants lost up to ten people, including the group commander who was killed. The rest fled,” the report says.
