Bolaños rules out the expropriation of the Maricarmen apartment and announces housing measures

The Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Relations with the Cortes Félix Bolaños has ruled out that the Spanish Government will approve next Tuesday the expropriation of the apartment from which Maricarmen was evicted. "I am not a supporter of expropriate formulas that lead nowhere and that do not have a clear fit in the Spanish Constitution," Bolaños warned in response to the request made by Sumar, his partners in the Sánchez Executive. Bolaños intends to shield with "discretion" the open negotiations with Junts to achieve the support of Carles Puigdemont's party before next Tuesday. "We are going to give our all," the minister highlighted during his visit to the Basque Country.

There will be no expropriation of the Maricarmen apartment by royal decree despite the express request made by the party of Vice President Yolanda Díaz. On the other hand, Bolaños has announced that next Tuesday the Executive's intention is to approve a battery of measures. "A powerful and complex package of measures to facilitate access to housing for people who have economic difficulties and to avoid evictions as traumatic as that of Maricarmen," as Bolaños stressed in Bilbao.
