The President signed a number of acts: amendments to the law on the bar, operational control and VAT

According to the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland, the amendment to the law on the bar is intended to improve the functioning of the professional self-government of lawyers. The changes include, among others: issues of financing, legal protection of lawyers and digitization of local government procedures.

The amendment to the laws on operational control strengthens the protection of citizens' rights and increases the transparency of the services' operations. Includes, among others: police and border guards. The most important changes include the introduction of the obligation to inform the court about the results of the operational inspection after its completion, and, at its request, also about the course of the inspection during its duration - the court then receives the materials collected during the inspection. Until now, only the competent prosecutor had such control rights.

The next signed act unifies and specifies the requirements for candidates for the bodies of auxiliary units of the commune (villages, districts, housing estates) and establishes the rules for the expiration of their mandates.

Karol Nawrocki also signed an amendment to the VAT Act. "The Act, on the one hand, deregulates and simplifies procedures, on the other hand, tightens the tax system and adapts Polish law to the case law of the CJEU," explains the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland.

The last of the acts signed today concerns the provision of electronic services. It is related to the EU regulation on the single market for digital services.

For now, there has been no presidential decision regarding the law on the tax on extraordinary profits of fuel companies, which would allow financing price reductions at gas stations.
