Recall of 146,505 units of 38 car models from 6 companies including BYD and Benz

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 2nd that manufacturing defects were found in 146,505 units of 38 car models manufactured, imported and sold by BYD Korea, Mercedes-Benz Korea, Stellantis Korea, Jaguar Land Rover Korea, Hyundai Motor Company and Volvo Car Korea, and that voluntary corrective action (recall) was being taken.

BYD has been taking corrective action since June 19 after confirming that 18,091 vehicles of 6 car models, including Sea Lion 7, Ato 3, Dolphin, and Seal, did not comply with safety standards, with warnings for not wearing seat belts being hidden by other notifications.

2,113 Mercedes-Benz C 300 4MATIC units were recalled starting June 26 after it was confirmed that the horn and steering wheel buttons may not work due to lack of durability of the steering electronic control circuit.

It has been discovered that 1,731 units of Stellantis 300C may fail while driving due to insufficient durability of high-pressure fuel pump accessories, and corrective measures have been taken since June 26.

A recall of 14,373 units of 21 models, including the Land Rover Defender 110 D240, will be carried out from the 3rd as it has been confirmed that the airbags may not operate in the event of a collision due to insufficient durability of the steering airbag connector.

Hyundai Motor Company [005380] has confirmed that 54,792 Tucson and Tucson Hybrid vehicles do not comply with safety standards, causing the instrument panel to blink or turn off due to an error in the instrument panel control software, and will begin taking corrective measures from the 6th.

It was discovered that 55,405 units of 7 models, including the Volvo 44,381 units of 6 models, including the XC60, will be recalled starting on the 13th, and 11,024 units of the XC40 will undergo corrective action after securing parts.
