Candan Yüceer resigned from Yeni Party

Tekirdağ Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Candan Yüceer announced that she resigned from the New Party with the statement she made on her social media account. Reacting to the developments within the party and the discussions at the provincial congress, Yüceer emphasized that he did not engage in politics for personal interests. Sharing the reasons for his decision to resign, Yüceer stated that his priority in the future will be to serve Tekirdağ.

"MY STRUGGLE WAS NOT A PERSONAL STRUGGLE"

Expressing his view of politics and his criticisms of the developments within the party in his resignation statement, Yüceer used the following statements:

"As of today, I am resigning from the New Party, of which I am a member. I did not enter politics to calculate seats. My struggle has never been a struggle for personal prosperity. However, I regret to see that today, some people have fallen into the calculation of their own personal fortune, position and seat."

HE REACTED TO WHAT HAPPENED AT THE PROVINCIAL CONGRESS

Drawing attention to the discussions at the provincial congress held while he was in his sick bed, Yüceer criticized the developments that took place through his congress delegateship.

Yüceer said, "Finally, I do not find it acceptable that the agenda of the provincial congress was turned into a discussion about the congress delegateship during a period when I was in a sick bed, and that the congress was not started due to these discussions, and that I was not even registered as a congress delegate."

Stating that the issue is not only about the delegate list, Yüceer continued his statement as follows:

"The issue here is not who is or is not on the delegate list. The issue is the respect that should be shown to people who have struggled together for years. The issue is the law of companionship. The issue is the political courtesy that should be shown to an elected Metropolitan Mayor. The issue is how the people we march with treat each other."

Yüceer said, "This is not the loyalty I expect, this is not the companionship I seek. I do not exist in an understanding where the law of companionship is so easily violated and personal interests are prioritized over common values."

"MY PRIORITY IS NOT POLITICAL SETTLEMENTS"

Emphasizing that he will continue to serve Tekirdağ after his resignation, Yüceer stated that he will focus on the problems awaiting solutions and ongoing investments in the city.

Yüceer included the following statements in his statement:

"My priority and responsibility are very clear: Tekirdağ. What I think about every morning when I wake up is which problem of Tekirdağ we will solve, which investment we will complete, which project we will implement. Our citizens living in our 11 districts are waiting for service from us. They are waiting for infrastructure, waiting for roads, waiting for water, waiting for social support. Tekirdağ does not have a day to lose."

Stating that he will focus on municipal work instead of political debates, Yüceer said, "My priority is not political showdowns, but service to Tekirdağ, Tekirdağ's pending problems, ongoing investments and the promises we made to our people. I prefer to spend my energy on the future of the city."

Yüceer completed his statement with the following words:

"Our struggle, our path, our priority is to make Tekirdağ a stronger, more fair, more livable city. I came to this position to serve Tekirdağ. We will continue our way with our heads held high, our foreheads open, and with the awareness of our responsibility towards our fellow citizens. And I will continue to work for Tekirdağ with all my strength, my love for Tekirdağ and my responsibility to serve this beautiful city."
