Trump claims Iran wants to conclude an agreement and confirms the end of the war after the midterm elections

US President Donald Trump on Sunday reiterated his assertion that the war with Iran will end shortly after the midterm elections next November - or perhaps before that - claiming that Tehran is desperately seeking to conclude an agreement.

Trump said while attending the Irish Open golf tournament at his course in the Doonbeg area: “Look, this may be over before the midterm elections, but it will be over right after those elections. I will tell you this: Iran is desperate to make a deal; they are constantly calling and they want to make a deal. They have to make the right deal, and I will not accept a bad deal.”

Trump began his speech by indicating that the United States would eventually exit the war with Iran, before leaving the matter open to other possibilities.

“We will eventually exit, unless we decide to stay and keep the oil, as is the case in Venezuela,” he said.
