State Duma deputy proposed punishing Ukrainian Armed Forces commanders for drone attacks

An effective way to suppress attacks by Ukrainian drones is the personal responsibility of the commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), said Andrei Kolesnik, a member of the State Duma Committee on Defense. The deputy spoke about this in a conversation with Lenta.ru.

Kolesnik noted that launches of Ukrainian drones can be carried out from anywhere in the border region and beyond, because the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ launch pads are mobile today.

“As a rule, there is no single launch site. [The launches occur] from different regions, depending on the range of the drones. I also think that sabotage groups are operating on Russian territory. Our special services catch them periodically. Therefore, here a joint comprehensive approach must be taken by the armed forces together with the intelligence services,” the deputy said.

The parliamentarian also said that reconnaissance should work on the line of combat contact and on the territory of Ukraine.

“They must identify pre-equipped launch sites that are subject to destruction,” he added.
