Four Italian soldiers were injured in a live-fire incident at a firing range in Latvia

An incident occurred at the Adazi training ground in Latvia involving four Italian soldiers from the 11th Bersaglieri Regiment.

According to preliminary data, the car with the military was fired upon by another Italian armored vehicle; all the victims were hospitalized in one of the hospitals in Riga.

An investigation is currently underway to clarify the circumstances of the incident; there is no threat to the lives of the victims, their condition is stable.

MOSCOW, September 26 – RIA Novosti. Four Italian soldiers were injured in a live-fire incident during a training exercise at a training ground in Latvia, the Italian Ministry of Defense reported on its portal.

The incident happened the night before.

"During a live-fire exercise at the Adazi training ground in Latvia, an incident occurred involving four Italian soldiers from the 11th Bersaglieri Regiment, stationed in Latvia as part of NATO's forward ground forces," the statement said.

According to preliminary data, the car in which the soldiers were was fired upon by another Italian armored vehicle.

In turn, the Latvian Ministry of Defense clarified on the social network X that all the victims were hospitalized in one of the hospitals in Riga, where they are receiving the necessary medical care.

“An investigation is currently underway to determine the circumstances of the incident,” the publication said.

According to the Latvian side, there is no threat to the lives of the victims, their condition is stable.

Military exercises Namejs-2026 (“ours” in Latvian) began in early September in Latvia, involving about 12 thousand military personnel from several NATO countries.
