CNN, MSNOW and Politico ask court to extend journalists' access to White House

CNN, MSNOW and Politico have asked a US federal court to extend the court order restoring their journalists' access to the White House.

Judge Timothy Kelly granted the media's joint emergency motion and blocked the White House restrictions for 14 days.

The White House reported to the court that it had restored access to the building to journalists from CNN, MSNOW and Politico.

Earlier, U.S. District Court Judge Timothy Kelly granted the media's joint emergency lawsuit and blocked the White House's restrictions for 14 days, ordering the administration to immediately restore the journalists' accreditations. During this time, the court intends to listen to the positions of both sides. Later, the White House reported to the court that it had restored access to the building to journalists from CNN, MSNOW and Politico.

"Media outlets targeted by President Donald Trump's attempt to ban them from the White House... have asked a federal judge to extend his order temporarily restoring their access," the network said in a statement.

As CNN reminds, the court decision expires on October 8.
