About 200 teachers and students attended the award ceremony.

According to Leung Guan-kang, Chief Counselor of the Civil Security Service of the Hong Kong SAR Government, the Civil Security Corps will start offering CPR and AED training courses to the youth corps of the Civil Security Corps in March 2026. So far, about 1,000 members have completed the courses. This course aims to train teenagers to master the use of CPR and AED, stay calm in emergency situations, perform effective first aid, and gain precious time to save lives.

At the ceremony, representatives of the Youth League of the Civil Security Corps fully demonstrated the AED operating procedures and simulated real-life scenarios in the form of a small theater to demonstrate how to work together in an emergency, use AEDs for rescue, and seek help from professionals at the same time.

16-year-old Lian Xinying is one of the course participants. She believes that the course taught her practical skills to help in emergencies, and she will share her AED skills with her classmates, friends and family. Another member of the Youth League of the Civil Security Corps, Hu Chengheng, admitted that he was a little nervous when he first started learning AEDs. After training, he became calmer and calmer, and is now proficient in the correct steps and movements. He believes that he "has the ability and responsibility to help others and save lives" and is looking forward to becoming a professional ambulance worker in the future.

Leung Guan-kang said that this course is in line with the relevant content of "effectively improving people's livelihood and well-being" in Hong Kong's first five-year plan, strengthening future education and promoting youth development.
