Rio de Janeiro government candidate Cyro Garcia (PSTU) proposed guaranteeing the titling of all quilombola lands and the protection of these territories in the state as part of historical reparation measures for the black population. The proposal was presented during an agenda at Transpetro's headquarters, in the center of Rio, this Thursday (24).

"The Brazilian State has a historic debt with the black people. (...) My government intends to guarantee decent housing, basic sanitation, schools, transportation, quality public health for peripheral communities, guarantee the titling of all quilombola lands and the protection of these lands", promised Cyro.

Alongside vice-presidential candidate Perciliana Costa Rodrigues and Senate candidate Paula Falcão, Cyro leafleted and spoke to workers about proposals for his government plan.

Teaching African history

In the area of education, Cyro Garcia defended the teaching of African history in state schools.

The candidate also stated that he intends to adopt measures aimed at preserving culture and guaranteeing freedom of worship. The proposals were presented by Cyro as part of a policy of historical reparation for the black population.

In the economic area, the candidate stated that he intends to increase the number of jobs through a priority public works plan.

Cyro's government plan also foresees a reduction in working hours to 30 hours a week, without a salary reduction.

Another proposal presented by the candidate is to combat differences in remuneration in the job market.
