National Day flower arrangements were unveiled at Beijing’s Tiananmen Square and Chang’an Street with the theme of “Strive forward in the 15th Five-Year Plan and embark on a new journey”

On the same day, the giant "Bless the Motherland" flower basket in the center of Tiananmen Square and 10 sets of three-dimensional flower beds along Chang'an Avenue were officially unveiled.

Song Xuemin, a second-level researcher at the Urban Greening Division of the Beijing Municipal Landscaping and Greening Bureau, said that this year’s flower arrangements along Tiananmen Square and Chang’an Street were themed “Strive forward in the 15th Five-Year Plan and stride forward on a new journey.” A giant "Bless the Motherland" flower basket was placed in the center of Tiananmen Square, and the green spaces on both sides continued the auspicious flower belt arrangement. The total area of ​​the flower arrangement was 5,050 square meters, with a total of 18 flower balls on both sides. 10 groups of three-dimensional flower beds were unveiled along Chang'an Avenue, and about 450,000 pots of flowers were used to arrange about 7,000 square meters of ground flowers.

The "Bless the Motherland" flower bed in the center of Tiananmen Square features festive flower and fruit baskets as the main scene. The bottom of the flower bed is 45 meters in diameter and has a peony pattern, which means prosperity. The top of the flower bed is 18 meters high, the basket body is 16 meters high, and the diameter of the basket is 12 meters. The words "Bless the Motherland 1949-2026" are written on the south side of the basket, and the words "Celebrate National Day 1949-2026" are written on the north side of the basket. The basket contains 15 kinds of flowers and 5 kinds of fruits, which represent beautiful meanings, symbolizing clusters of flowers and abundant fruits.

10 groups of three-dimensional flower beds are arranged along Chang'an Avenue between Jianguomen and Fuxingmen. The Jianguo Gate begins with the "Continuous Long March" flower bed, and the Fuxing Gate begins with the "Go Forward Bravely" flower bed. Among them, the 4 groups of flower beds in Dongdan reflect the deep cultivation of new productivity and the focus on high-quality development; the 4 groups of flower beds in Xidan reflect the promotion of urban-rural integrated development and the joint construction and sharing of a better life.

This year, 50 new and high-quality flower varieties made their debut in Chang'an Street flower beds, including 22 domestically bred new varieties and 28 new imported varieties from abroad. The three-dimensional flower beds on Chang'an Street strive to promote the deep integration of art and skills. In the "New Quality Pilot" flower bed, a 9-meter-high robot pursues precise shaping at the artistic level, integrating metal and plant elements to bring a sense of future technology; in the "Garden Life" flower bed, multiple scenes such as vertical greening of buildings and rooftop gardens are presented, leading a new form of garden city construction.
