The owner of a shopping center that caught fire in Sterlitamak was detained

Investigators detained the owner of a shopping center (shopping center) in Sterlitamak, where people were injured in the fire. Lenta.ru was informed about this by the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia.

The entrepreneurs brought two charges against them under articles of improper provision of services and causing death by negligence. Initial investigative actions have been carried out with him, the issue of bringing charges against him and choosing a preventive measure is being decided.

The collection and analysis of evidence in the case continues, legal and technical documentation regulating the fire safety of the building has been seized, eyewitnesses are being questioned, and forensic examinations have been ordered. Also, the Investigative Committee will check the officials of the fire inspection authorities.

On the afternoon of September 22, a fire occurred in the shopping center building, killing four people and injuring the same number. According to the investigation, the owner of the building did not ensure proper compliance with fire safety standards and requirements during the operation of the facility, which led to tragic consequences.

There could have been more casualties during the fire if not for the action of 22-year-old Daniil Isaev, who drove his Gazelle to the burning building and helped with the others to evacuate people.
