近年正式教師大量開缺，資深代理教師陸續「上岸」轉任正式教師後，不少學校面臨代理教師一招再招仍找不到人的困境，許多大學師培課程也不再熱門。教育部長鄭英耀先前接受本報訪問時，提出師培改革方向，未來修畢教育學分的學生，可望以擔任代理教師一年抵教育實習；並授權地方政府，與「在地、優質」師培大學合作，依偏鄉及地方需求科別培育公費生。

教育部政次張廖萬堅昨日說明，目前已建立師資供需評估機制，透過師資資料庫及各縣市教師甄試數據，掌握各科缺額及錄取情形；並精簡小學師培課程學分數，讓師培課程可採計為畢業學分，另開辦偏遠地區及中等師資類科學士後教育學分班、規劃STEM領域碩士公費專班。

張廖萬堅表示，師資公費生每人每年受領金額已提高至二十萬八六四元，增加七萬二千四百元，教育實習獎助金也提高至每月一萬五千元；後續將持續檢討師培制度，爭取資源投入師資培育，讓有志投入教育的人才獲得良好培育，也讓現場老師安心教學。
