Putin on Monday met in the Kremlin with the leadership of political parties that entered the State Duma following the election results. The meeting was attended by the chairman of United Russia Dmitry Medvedev, the head of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov, the leader of the LDPR Leonid Slutsky, the first deputy chairman of A Just Russia Alexander Babakov, and the deputy chairman of the New People party Vladislav Davankov.

“The topic of the participation of veterans and heroes of the North Military District in parliamentary elections and elections at other levels was very widely on the agenda of yesterday’s meeting - both in statements by the head of state and in statements by the leaders of political parties. Everyone expressed satisfaction and pride in the fact that so many participants of the North Military District will now be represented in legislative bodies at various levels,” Peskov told reporters on Tuesday.
