The Esplanada dos Ministérios, in the center of Brasília, will be the stage for the traditional 7th of September Parade this Monday (7). The military parade is scheduled to start at 9am and end around 11am.
The DF security forces estimate that an audience of 30 thousand people should pass through the Esplanada dos Ministérios throughout the holiday – the majority during the parade.
The civic event and holiday alter the functioning of commerce throughout the city and traffic in the central area. Check out the tips and guidelines below for enjoying the day.
What will the parade be like?
The program will begin with a parade of students from public schools and thematic areas. Troops from the Armed Forces, the Military Police of the Federal District and the Military Fire Department of the Federal District will parade.
The parades include armored cars, motorcycle squads, cavalry and foot troops, in different formats. At the end of the event, the parade will close with traditional demonstrations by the Fumaça Squadron and Brazilian Air Force (FAB) aircraft.
How to watch?
Public access is free, and the stands will be open from 6am. There will be magazines at the entrances to the Esplanade.
Via S1: Entry will be in front of the Metropolitan Curia parking lot, next to the Brasília Cathedral.
Via N1: Access will be from the side of Block J, owned by the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services. People with disabilities will have access through the Block J tunnel, which has a connecting ramp with the reserved space between the ministry and Via N1.
There will also be preventive actions at the Central Metro station, at the Galeria station, at the Plano Piloto bus station and on the access lines to the stands.
It is important to arrive early, because the magazines will be individualized.

How is the traffic?
Traffic on the Esplanada dos Ministérios was changed this Saturday morning (5). Check it out:
Saturday (5): From 6am to 11am, the N1 and S1 roads and access to the ministry blocks on these roads will be closed for parade training.
Sunday (6): the Esplanada dos Ministérios will be closed from 4pm on the sections between the Metropolitan Cathedral and Via L4. From 11pm onwards, the closures will be expanded and adjusted in the region of the East Loop of the Bus Station, in the access via Via L4.
What about public transport schedules?
"Vai de Graça" will be operating normally during the celebration of September 7th, as is the case on all holidays.
The Metro will run from 5:30 am to 7 pm.
According to the Mobility Secretariat, 134 extra buses will be directed to the central area of Brasília for the arrival of the public, starting at 6am, and for dispersion from 1pm.
What about private transport?
The parking lots in the ministry annexes on the south and north sides and the Sesi Lab spaces can be used depending on space availability.
Taxis and app cars will have specific embarkation and disembarkation points:
Via Sul: The stop will be in the parking lot of the Ministry of Culture annex, with access via via S2.
Via Norte: the parking lot attached to Block J will be used.
The taxi parking area will be between SESI Lab and the National Library, also with access via Via S2. The guideline is to exclusively use these points and avoid stopping on main roads and in blocked areas.
Parking on sidewalks, lawns, pedestrian circulation areas, emergency access points or isolated spaces will not be permitted.
Vehicles that do not comply with these rules will be subject to inspection and removal.

Enhanced security
A reinforced structure will be set up next to the Honestino Guimarães Museum. The location will serve as a support point for event security – for anyone who needs to register an incident or block a lost/stolen/stolen cell phone, for example.
Security forces will also mobilize teams for fire control and pre-hospital care – these military and civilian personnel will be circulating during the event.
The region will be monitored by cameras, drones and images sent in real time.
Next to the police support point, a specific area will be set up to welcome lost people.
In the case of a lost child, teenager, elderly person or any other participant, the advice is to immediately look for a uniformed team or go to the reception point.
What to take?
The Public Security Secretariat recommends that people arrive early, bring water and wear light clothing, sunscreen, caps or hats due to the high temperature.
The guideline is to only take what you need to follow the parade.

🏍️ Motorcyclists should be aware: helmets will not be allowed into the parade area. The guideline is to provide a safe way to keep them with the vehicle in advance.
Restriction for drones
Pilots and drone owners must observe the temporary flight restriction planned for the region. On the day of the parade, from 00:00 to 18:00, a Flight Restriction Zone (FRZ) will be in force in the area designated for the parade and in its immediate surroundings.
During this period, recreational and professional flights of unmanned aircraft without specific authorization are prohibited. The exception applies to public security bodies and previously authorized institutions.
