Andrea Sempio's defense prepares counterarguments after closing the Garlasco murder investigation

Twenty days to file other consultations, which they are already working on with their experts, and prepare for the probable request for indictment. Andrea Sempio's lawyers are evaluating the moves after yesterday the Pavia Prosecutor's Office closed for the second time the investigations against him for the Garlasco crime. For the Pavia magistrates, on 13 August 2007 it was he who killed Chiara Poggi "with cruelty" and "with hatred" for having been rejected. A thesis supported on the basis of new consultancy that the lawyers Liborio Cataliotti and Angela Taccia are ready to refute.

Compared to the 415 bis notified last May 6, the 38-year-old's defense claims, the accusation has not changed in the eighteen pages of yesterday's notice of conclusion of the investigations.

And, despite the much talk about the imprint of the killer's shoe, which according to the prosecutors is compatible with that of the suspect, and above all of the DNA traces on Alberto Stasi's Umberto Dei bikes, attributed to Chiara Poggi despite the fact that they tested negative the following day, "there are no new pieces of evidence".

However, the defense is preparing to respond blow for blow.

"Today we are engaged in the deep North to carry out important defensive activities", writes Armando Palmegiani on social media, posting a photo of himself with Cataliotti and Taccia.

As regards the Frau shoe, the one with the dot print in the victim's blood, two witnesses are ready to declare that twenty years ago Sempio was wearing the 44, and not the 42. On the question of the DNA on the bike pedals, however, the thesis is the one also supported by the consultants of the Poggi family. "I had the opportunity to evaluate those raw data myself, I had the opportunity to evaluate the relationships present up to May of this year and it is not data subsequent to obtaining Chiara Poggi's clear and irrefutable genetic profile, but data acquired previously and then re-evaluated and studied", claims geneticist Marzio Capra. Not to mention that even a possible alteration of the evidence against Alberto Stasi, as claimed by the prosecution, has nothing to do with the accusation made today against Andrea Sempio.

In short, for the Sempio defence, the line to follow has been drawn and follows the one already followed after the first closure of the investigations. It's just a matter, as Palmegiani claims, of working.
