Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan Goes to the United Arab Emirates

Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan is going to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) today. UAE also organizes an investment forum in Istanbul. Official diplomatic relations between the two countries began 53 years ago today, on September 28, 1973.

INVESTMENTS AND REGIONAL ISSUES

According to information obtained from foreign affairs sources, preparations for the second meeting of the High Level Strategic Council between the two countries will be reviewed during Fidan's UAE contacts. Fidan confirmed that Turkey is in full solidarity with the UAE, one of the countries most negatively affected by the war in the Gulf, pointed out that external interventions in the region lead to chronic conflicts, and therefore the understanding of regional ownership should be strengthened, and emphasized the importance of ensuring freedom of navigation in the Straits of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandab in terms of regional and global stability. A united Yemen, which has achieved peace and stability, is critical for the security of the Middle East. It is expected to express its importance. Fidan will also bring up the Gaza issue.

SUMMIT IN ISTANBUL

The United Arab Emirates will organize the "UAE-Türkiye Logistics and Infrastructure Forum (Middle Corridor)" event in Istanbul today. At the event, which will be attended by high-level public and private sector representatives from the UAE and leading companies from Turkey, opportunities to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the fields of logistics, transportation infrastructure, supply chains and industrial investments and to develop new investment and trade opportunities within the scope of the Middle Corridor will be discussed.

UAE's Ambassador to Ankara Said Sani al-Zahiri will also speak at the event. Currently, the UAE is the Gulf country that invests the most in Turkey and is Turkey's largest trade partner in the Gulf. Bilateral trade volume exceeded 19 billion dollars in 2025.
