Let's see if the expected letter from MIT will arrive at the hearing tomorrow. At the previous hearing, it was decided to ask MİT whether a four-person espionage organization, which the prosecution claimed consisted of Ekrem İmamoğlu, Merdan Yanardağ, Necati Özkan and Hüseyin Gün, actually existed and whether it was engaged in espionage activities.
Because there is a complete incompatibility between the law that the prosecution accuses and its claim. What does the law say? For the act of espionage, a state secret that has been obtained once is required, and this secret must be given to a foreign intelligence organization/state. So, is there a foreign state or foreign intelligence organization in the indictment that benefited from espionage activities? No. So, is there any data that constitutes a state secret? No. That's why the court said, "Let's at least ask MİT"!
17 EMAIL ISSUE
The issue that they pushed as a state secret was also refuted in the last hearing: According to the indictment, what they called a state secret was "a large number of IMM data" and these were seized and uploaded to the darkweb. The expert opinion, the expert report requested by the judge, and the Police anti-terrorism report revealed that the IMM data was actually a total of 17 e-mails with the ibb.gov.tr extension.
Yes, only 17 emails! But there is more. According to reports, only two of the 17 emails are real and in use, the others are inactive. It's not over. According to reports, these emails were uploaded to the darkweb before 2019 and in different years. Moreover, it was not seized from IMM, but from the sites that those using those IMM accounts access for reasons such as shopping. This is why it fell into the darkweb in different years.
THREE DOCUMENTS REFUSING THE INDICTMENT
The essence of the indictment is this: Ekrem İmamoğlu, Necati Özkan and Merdan Yanardağ were an espionage organization, and Hüseyin Gün was their superior. The three names carried out espionage activities under the instructions of Hüseyin Gün. They stole and used IMM's data and manipulated the 2019 election!
The expert opinion, the expert report requested by the judge and the Police anti-terrorism report refuted the issue of "IMM data". Under normal circumstances, the case should have been dropped immediately because these three documents refuted the indictment. But since this espionage case was ultimately a political case, they said, "Let's also ask MİT." Let's see what MIT will say?
THE REAL SPY WAS INTRODUCED IN ISTANBUL
Frankly, MIT's job is also difficult. If he said, "There is no espionage involved," it would cause a political case to be dismissed. If he tries to say "There is espionage", how will he cover it up?
The real sad part of the situation for our country is this: They attribute the issue to espionage, British espionage. Their amazing evidence is this: David John Charters was recorded in Hüseyin Gün's phone book as: "Friend of former MI6 Director Richard Moore." (Sabah, 25.10.2025)
This Roger Moore, the head of the British espionage network, was in Istanbul just before this espionage conspiracy case, to promote an espionage platform called "Silent Courier". Moore invited people from Istanbul to become British spies! Undoubtedly, this was an activity approved by the Turkish state and government.
It was revealed that Christopher Paul McGrath, another name in Hüseyin Gün's guide, also received "cyber security tenders" from two ministries.
WILL THERE BE SUCH AN ORGANIZATIONAL HIERARCHY?
I wrote in this column after the last hearing. The incident is actually a fight between two stepsisters over money. When one of his brothers, Ümit Deniz Alaçam, could not get the 2.4 million dollars he wanted, he reported Hüseyin Gün to 112. The report is not taken seriously at first. But it was thought that Hüseyin Gün and his stepmother could form an organization based on the photo taken with İmamoğlu for the election congratulations, so the button was pressed. Then, a four-person espionage organization is created with forced ties. It is made up so badly that the chief (Hüseyin Gün) asks for help from Necati Özkan, who is under him, in order to meet with İmamoğlu, who is under him according to the organizational chart!
In short, this is the weakest indictment I have read and the most baseless case I have watched. Let's see what MIT can say?
