"DTİK Baltic Countries Meeting", organized by DEİK/DTİK Latvia Representation in order to strengthen economic relations and deepen commercial ties between Türkiye and the Baltic countries, was held in Riga, the capital of Latvia. The summit, which brought together Turkish business people, investors and professionals operating in the region, became a strategic platform where mutual investment potentials were evaluated.
The most important outcome of the summit was the official opening of the Latvian Turkish Chamber of Commerce, which will form the institutional infrastructure of trade between the two countries.
HIGH-LEVEL PARTICIPATION AND DIPLOMATIC SUPPORT
Participation in the event, which aims to increase the economic and social weight of the Turkish diaspora in the region, was intense. At the meeting; Turkey's Riga Ambassador Ahmet Cemil Miroğlu, DTİK European Regional Representatives Board President Turgut Torunoğulları, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia Accredited Trade Counselor Dr. Gökhan Karaca, Latvian Development Agency (LIAA) Investment Director Deniss Camovs, DTİK Jurmala Representative Tamer Ciğeroğlu, DTİK Riga Representative Hakan Uzunosmanoğlu and DTİK Latvia Representative Fuat Aydemir.
The sessions, moderated by American Chamber of Commerce in Latvia Manager and DTİK Jurmala Representative Tamer Ciğeroğlu, presented regional vision and new investment perspectives to the participants.
OPPORTUNITIES IN THE BALTIC MARKET WERE DISCUSSED
In the presentations made within the scope of the summit, the potential of the Baltic geography for Turkish investors was revealed in figures. DTİK Latvia Representative Fuat Aydemir drew attention to the opportunities of the market with the statistics and concrete cooperation options he shared; Hakan Uzunosmanoğlu, President of the Latvian Turkish Chamber of Commerce and DTİK Riga Representative, detailed the logistical and economic advantages offered by the Latvian market. During the sessions, it was emphasized that establishing partnerships on an institutional basis would contribute to the trade volume of the two countries.
INSTITUTIONAL PERIOD IN COMMERCIAL RELATIONS
Simultaneously with the event, the opening ceremony of the Latvian Turkish Chamber of Commerce was held with the participation of high-level representatives from Türkiye and Latvia. At the ceremony, which was presented by General Secretary Can Bölükemini, the certificates of the new members of the chamber were presented by President Hakan Uzunosmanoğlu.
Speaking at the opening, Turkey's Ambassador to Riga Ahmet Cemil Miroğlu touched upon the critical mission that the newly established chamber of commerce will undertake and stated that they will continue to provide all kinds of support to the process as a diplomatic mission. Ambassador Miroğlu and Commercial Counselor Dr. Gökhan Karaca's close attention and contributions were welcomed by business world representatives.
Following the event, which was closely followed by the international press and media members from Türkiye, DEİK/DTİK officials announced that they would continue their work without slowing down to establish sustainable commercial bridges in the Baltic geography and increase the solidarity of the Turkish business world.
