The election for the governor of Okinawa, Japan, ended. Candidate Genta Kosha was criticized for splashing water and spraying herbicides.

The votes for the governor election of Okinawa Prefecture in Japan were opened yesterday (13th). The candidate recommended by the Liberal Democratic Party, Genta Furusha, set a historical record with 423,124 votes, defeating the current governor, Tamaki Dani, who was seeking re-election. It is reported that Naha City Councilor Kadengawa Kotawa published an article on the last day of the election campaign (the 12th) revealing that Kosha Genta went to a municipal residential area to give a speech that day. Unexpectedly, during the speech, someone kept pouring a large amount of water from directly above him. Kadengawa recalled that the other party splashed him nearly 10 times, and described the amount of water as not being as big as a glass of water, but like "splashing with a bucket." Despite being treated like this, Genta Koshe remained unmoved and continued to speak, which he admired very much.

Coincidentally, the Okinawa political activist "Matsuno" who once served as the director of the fourth branch of the "Heart of Japan" Senate National Proportional Representation Branch also shared before the election that in a promotional vehicle carrying Liberal Democratic Party campaign staff in Tomami City on the morning of the 10th, a strange man sprayed herbicide on the faces of the people inside the vehicle through the open window. The police were informed that they had intervened. Videos uploaded online show that the man repeatedly emphasized that he did this for the sake of "peace."

Many Okinawan netizens complained that if Danny Tamaki encountered such an incident, local news media in Okinawa would report it live 24 hours a day, and the police would hunt down the suspect as quickly as possible. Other Japanese netizens denounced the behavior of these people, which not only seriously undermined the democratic electoral system, but also pointed out that if the water-splashing incident had not used pure water but highly toxic substances, the consequences would have been disastrous.
