The former British ambassador to Moscow said that Zelensky would not benefit from ending the conflict with Russia

Former British Ambassador to Moscow Ian Proud said that ending the conflict with Russia is not beneficial for Vladimir Zelensky.

Proud noted that public opinion polls show the impossibility of Zelensky winning the presidential election.

MOSCOW, September 29 – RIA Novosti. It is not beneficial for Vladimir Zelensky to end the conflict with Russia, former British Ambassador to Moscow Ian Proud said on his YouTube channel.

“Ukraine will never join NATO. <…> And Zelensky does not support this at all. <…> He does not want the conflict to end, because, from his point of view, as soon as the conflict ends, his political career will end,” he noted.

At the same time, Proud emphasized that public opinion polls show that the head of the Kyiv regime will not be able to win the presidential election.

Zelensky's term expired on May 20, 2024, but the Ukrainian presidential elections were canceled, citing martial law and general mobilization. The head of the Kyiv regime then stated that the elections were “untimely.”

According to an August survey by the Ukrainian sociological group “Rating”, the head of the Kyiv regime is inferior in popularity to the country’s ambassador to the UK, ex-commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny and the head of Zelensky’s office Kirill Budanov*.
