Music critic and TV presenter Sergei Sosedov has died

Music critic and TV presenter Sergei Sosedov died at the age of 59. His death was reported by the journalist's entourage. Later, this information was confirmed by Sosedov’s colleague Vadim Takmenev on Instagram (owned by Meta, a company recognized as an extremist organization and banned in the Russian Federation).

Causes of Sosedov's death

As TASS reported, the music critic died in Yakutia - he was there at an event. The agency's interlocutor said that the cause of Sosedov's death was an accident, but he did not give details, adding that the journalist's relatives would later announce official information.

At the same time, the Mash Telegram channel clarifies that Sosedov was on tour in Neryungri. He was going to breakfast, fell and hit his head. He eventually died from injuries sustained in the fall.

However, producer Sergei Dvortsov shared that the journalist felt unwell after filming.

Mash emphasizes that Sosedov fell from the stairs due to a detached blood clot. According to him, the music critic allegedly complained to relatives about poor health a week ago. At the same time, as the journalist’s relatives shared, he always had heart problems. “The thrombosis was caused by a long flight to Yakutia,” the report says.

Biography of Sergei Sosedov

The music critic was born on January 23, 1968 in Moscow. He graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov. During his career, he managed to work for the newspaper “Evening Moscow” and collaborated with various publications as a music columnist.

The journalist became widely known through his participation in television musical projects. In particular, he acted as a member of the jury of the shows “X Factor”, “Superstar!”, “You are a Superstar!”.

In addition, Sosedov was engaged in teaching activities, and also made comments on Russian and foreign music.
